Story of Bindu Brahmin

Shri Sut ji said- Shaunak! Listen, I will narrate another secret story to you, because you are the foremost among the devotees of Shiva and the best among the scholars of Vedas. In the region near the sea, there is a village named Vashkal, where great sinners who have turned away from Vedic religion live. All of them are evil and their mind remains engaged in impure sensual pleasures. They do not believe in gods and fate. All of them have a crooked nature. They do farming and keep various types of weapons. They are adulterous. They are completely unaware of the fact that knowledge, detachment and true religion are the ultimate endeavour for man. All of them have animalistic intellect. People of other communities also have bad thoughts like them, are averse to religion. They are engaged in evil deeds every day and are always immersed in sensual pleasures. The women there are also of bad nature, willful, immersed in sin, have crooked thinking and are adulterous. They are completely devoid of all good conduct and morality. Only the wicked reside there.

Bindug Brahmin lived in Vashkal village. He was irreligious, evil-minded and a great sinner. His wife was very beautiful. Her name was Chanchula. She always followed the best religion but Bindug was a prostitute-goer. A lot of time passed in this way doing evil deeds. His wife, despite being afflicted by lust, did not deviate from religion for a long time, despite suffering due to the fear of losing her own religion. But later on, she too, influenced by the behavior of her wicked husband, became wicked and turned away from her religion.

In this way, a lot of time of that husband and wife was wasted while they were immersed in immorality. That wicked Brahmin Bindug, who was a prostitute-lover, with a corrupt mind, died in time and went to hell. After suffering the pains of hell for many days, that foolish sinner became a dreadful ghost on Vindhya mountain. Here, after the death of that wicked Bindug, that woman named Chanchula lived in her house with her sons for a long time. After the death of her husband, she also fell from her religion and started associating with other men. Satis do not stop following their religion even in adversity. This is penance. Penance is difficult, but its fruit is sweet. The sensual does not know this truth, that is why he enjoys the poisonous fruit of sensual pleasures.

One day, by chance, on the occasion of a holy festival, she went to Gokarna with her brothers. She took a bath in the holy water and started roaming here and there with her brothers. While roaming she went to a temple. There she heard the most sacred and auspicious story of Lord Shiva from the mouth of a Brahmin. The Brahmin who was narrating the story was saying that ‘those women who When they commit adultery, after death they go to Yamalok, then the messengers of Yamaraja torture them in various ways. They brand their sexual organs with hot iron rods. They make them have intercourse with a man made of hot iron. All these punishments are so painful that the soul cries out that he will not do this again. But the messengers of Yamaraja do not leave him. Everyone has to face his karma. Gods, sages, humans, all are bound by it.’ Chanchula became anxious with fear after listening to this tale that increased detachment from the mouth of the Brahmin. After the tale ended, all the people left from there, then Chanchula said to the Brahmin god who was narrating the tale – O Brahmin! I have committed a sin without knowing the religion. Swami! Have mercy on me and save me. After listening to your discourse, I have become detached from this world. Shame on me, the sinner with a foolish mind. I deserve to be condemned. I had turned away from my religion by getting entangled in bad things. Who will support a sinner like me who is inclined towards evil? When the messengers of death will tie me up by putting a noose around my neck and take me away and will cut my body into pieces in hell, then how will I be able to bear those great tortures? I am destroyed in every way, because till now I have been immersed in sin in every way. O Brahmin! You are my Guru, you are like my parents. I have come to your refuge. Now only you can save me, a helpless woman.

Sut ji says- Shaunak, crying in this manner Chanchula fell at the feet of the Brahmin God. Then the Brahmin raised her kindly.

Chanchula’s interest in listening to Shiva’s story and going to Shivaloka

The Brahmin said- Woman, you are fortunate that by the grace of Lord Shankar, you have realized your mistake in time by listening to the story of the Shiva Purana full of detachment. Do not be afraid and go to the shelter of Lord Shiva. By his supreme grace, all your sins will be destroyed. I will tell you the path along with the story of Lord Shiva, by which you will get the best speed that gives you happiness. By listening to the Shiva story, your intellect has become pure and you have repented and detachment has arisen in your mind. Repentance is the biggest atonement for the sinners who commit sins. Repentance is the purifier of sins. Only this purifies the sins. According to the good men, atonement for the purification of sins is accomplished only by repentance. The person who does not repent for his misdeed does not achieve the best speed, but the one who has heartfelt repentance for his misdeed, he is definitely a participant of the best speed. There is no doubt in this.

By listening to the story of Shiv Puran, the mind becomes pure and clean. Lord Shiva and Parvati reside in a pure mind. That pure soul attains the position of Sadashiv. Listening to this story is beneficial for all humans. Therefore, it should be worshipped and served. This story destroys the disease of worldly bondage. After listening to the story of Lord Shiva, one should meditate on it in the heart. This purifies the mind. By purification of the mind, along with knowledge and detachment, devotion to Maheshwar definitely appears and by his grace, divine salvation is attained. The person who is attached to Maya, cannot be freed from the bondage of this world.

O Brahmin wife, listen to this most sacred story of Lord Shiva by diverting your mind from other subjects – this will purify your mind and you will attain salvation. A person who contemplates on the feet of Lord Shiva with a pure heart, attains salvation in one life itself.

Sut ji says- Shaunak. After saying this the Brahmin became silent. His heart was filled with compassion. He got engrossed in meditation. Hearing the advice from the Brahmin, tears came from the eyes of Chanchula. With a joyful heart she fell at the feet of the Brahmin and said with folded hands- I am fulfilled. O Brahmin! You are blessed to be the best among the devotees of Shiva. You are a benefactor and are always engaged in charity. Sadhu! I am falling into the sea of hell. Kindly save me. The mythological and nectar-like beautiful Shiva Purana story that you have talked about has given rise to detachment in my mind. I have heard that nectar-like Shiva Purana story. I feel great reverence in my heart to listen to the Purana Katha. Please narrate it to me.

Sut ji says- With the desire of listening to the story of Shiv Puran in her mind, Chanchula started living there in the service of that Brahmin god. In that great area called Gokarna, Chanchula was gratified after listening to the best story of Shiv Puran from the mouth of that Brahmin god, which increases devotion, knowledge and detachment and gives salvation. Her mind became pure. She started thinking about the Saguna form of Shiv in her heart. She always used to remember the Sachchidananda form of Shiv. Thereafter, when her time was over, Chanchula left her body without any pain. A divine plane reached there to take her. This plane was decorated with ornaments and was adorned with Shiv Ganas.

Chanchula reached Shivpuri by plane. All her sins were washed away. She became a divya. Gaurangidevi reached Shivpuri wearing a half-moon crown and other divine ornaments on her head. There she saw the eternal god Trinetradhari Mahadev Shiv. All the gods were present in his service with devotion. His body glowed like millions of suns. He had five faces and three eyes in each face. A half-moon crown was shining on his head. There was a blue mark on his throat. Goddess Gauri was seated with him, who was glowing like a beam of electricity. Mahadevji’s glow was as fair as camphor. He wore white clothes and his body was covered with white ash.

Chanchula was very happy to see the extremely bright form of Lord Shiva. She repeatedly bowed before the Lord and stood humbly with folded hands, filled with love, joy and satisfaction. Tears from her eyes of joy. Lord Shankar and Goddess Gauri Uma looked at Chanchula with compassion and gentle eyes and called her near them. Gauri Uma lovingly made her her friend. Chanchula started living happily in the abode of Lord Shiva as the friend of Goddess Uma.

Bindu’s salvation from vampire vagina

Sut ji said- Shaunak! One day Chanchula went to Uma Devi who was immersed in bliss and both of them started praising her.

Chanchula said with folded hands- O Girirajnandini! Skandmata, Uma, you are worshipped by all humans and gods and give all happiness. You are the beloved of Lord Shiva. You are Saguna and Nirguna. O Sachchidanandaswarupini! You are the nourisher of nature. O Mother! You are the creator, nurture and destroyer of the world. You are the supreme power that gives great respect to Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.

Sut ji says- Shaunak! Chanchula, who had attained salvation, became calm after praising the goddess in this way. Tears of love welled up in her eyes. Then Shankarpriya devotee-loving Uma Devi pacified Chanchula with great love and said- Friend Chanchula! I am pleased with your praise. Tell me, what boon do you ask for?

Chanchula said- O Giriraj Kumari. Where is my husband Bindug at this time? How has he fared? Please tell me and do something so that we can meet again. O Mahadevi! My husband was infatuated with a Shudra caste prostitute and was always immersed in sin.

Girija said- Daughter! Your husband Bindug was a great sinner. His end was very terrible. Due to enjoying the company of a prostitute, that fool suffered many kinds of pain in hell for many years and now he is living in the form of a vampire on Vindhya mountain to suffer the remaining sins.

The wicked person lives there drinking air and suffers all kinds of pain. Sut ji says- Shaunak! Chanchula became very sad after listening to this from Gauri Devi. Then somehow stabilizing her mind, she asked Maa Gauri once again with a sad heart. O Mahadevi! Have mercy on me and save my sinful husband now. Kindness

Please tell me the remedy by which my husband can attain salvation. Gauri Devi said- If your husband listens to the sacred and excellent story of Bindug Shiva Purana, then he can overcome this misery and attain salvation.

Hearing these words of Gauri Devi, which were as sweet as nectar, Chanchula bowed her head with folded hands and repeatedly bowed to her and prayed that she should arrange for narrating the Shiv Purana to her husband.

On repeated prayers of the Brahmin wife Chanchula, Shivapriya Gauri Devi called Gandharvaraj Tumburo who sang the glories of Lord Shiva and said- Tumburo! You love Lord Shiva. You know all the things in my mind and accomplish my tasks. You are my

Go to Vindhya with this friend. There lives a very fierce and dreadful vampire. In his previous life, that vampire was the husband of my friend Chanchula, a Brahmin named Bindug. He became a prostitute-goer. He left his daily rituals like bathing, evening prayers, etc. His intellect got corrupted due to anger. His friendship with the wicked and hatred for the good had increased. He used to commit violence with weapons, torture people and set their houses on fire. He used to befriend Chandalas and visit prostitutes daily. He left his wife and made friends with wicked people and remained in touch with them. He remained trapped in vices till his death. After his death, he was taken to Yampur, the place of enjoyment for sinners. After suffering severe hells there, he is now living as a vampire on Vindhya mountain and is suffering the consequences of his sins. You should preach to him the divine story of Shiva Purana, which is extremely pious and destroys sins. By listening to this story, his heart will be purified of all sins and he will be freed from the ghost world. After being freed from his misfortune, you should bring that vampire named Bindug to Lord Shiva by putting him on a plane.

Sut ji says- Shaunak! On receiving the order from mother Uma, Gandharvaraj Tumburo happily praised his luck and took Chanchula along and went to Vindhya mountain, the abode of the vampire. Reaching there, he saw that vampire with a monstrous figure. His body was huge. His chin was big. He would sometimes laugh, sometimes cry and sometimes jump. The mighty Tumburo tied the vampire named Bindug with nooses. After that, Tumburo searched for a place and built a pavilion to recite the story of Shiv Puran. Soon people came to know that Goddess Parvati had come to save a vampire.

Tumburo has come to Vindhya mountain to narrate the Amrit Katha of Shiva Purana on the orders of Lord Shiva. Many sages reached there in the greed of listening to that story. Everyone was given a place respectfully. The vampire Bindug was tied in ropes and made to sit on a seat and then Tumburo started singing the Amrit Katha of the most excellent Shiva Purana. He clearly described the story of Shiva Purana from the first Vidyeshwar Samhita to the seventh Vayu Samhita.

All the listeners were blessed after listening to the Shiva Purana along with the seven Samhitas. After listening to the most sacred Shiva Purana, the vampire was freed from all sins and he left the vampire body. Soon his form became divine. His body became fair-skinned. White clothes and men’s ornaments appeared on his body.

Thus, having taken a divine form, Bindug himself along with his wife Chanchula started singing the praises of Lord Shiva. Everyone was very surprised to see him in this divine form. His mind was filled with supreme bliss.

Everyone was gratified after listening to the wonderful character of Lord Maheshwar and went to their respective abodes singing his praises. Bindug sat in the plane with his wife Chanchula and headed towards Shivpuri.

Singing the praises of Maheshwar, Bindug soon reached Shiva Dham with his wife Chanchula and Tumburo. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati made him their councillor. Both husband and wife were blessed to find eternal abode at the feet of Lord Maheshwar and Goddess Gauri.
